The Support You Wish You Had After Certification

Most Pilates certifications teach you the exercises.

What they don't always prepare you for is the reality of teaching.

The client with a herniated disc who wants to know if Pilates can help.

The client with osteoporosis who wants to strengthen their bones.

The pregnant client who asks if an exercise is safe.

The client who isn't getting results despite doing everything you've suggested.

And the countless moments where you're expected to have answers but find yourself wondering, "What

should I do here?"

That's where Pilates Extended comes in.

Through evidence-based education, mentorship, practical workshops, and a community of supportive instructors, you'll continue developing the knowledge and confidence that great teaching requires.

Pilates Extended exists to help bridge the gap between certification and confident teaching.

What We Believe

At Pilates Extended, we believe Pilates teachers deserve more than a certification and a manual.

We believe:

  • People are stronger and more resilient than they're often told.

  • Good teaching comes from understanding principles, not memorizing rules.

  • Evidence should inform practice.

  • Strength is an important part of health, function, and longevity.

  • Questions are welcome, and uncertainty is part of learning.

  • Continuing education should be practical, accessible, and immediately applicable.

  • Great teachers never stop learning.

Our teaching is heavily influenced by Clinical Pilates, modern pain science, and strength training principles. Rather than following rigid rules, we focus on helping teachers understand the why behind what they do and how to adapt their approach to the individual in front of them.

Our goal isn't to tell you exactly what to think.

It's to help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and clinical reasoning skills to make informed decisions for the clients in front of you.

Meet Amy

Clinical Pilates Mentor

Amy is the founder of Pilates Extended, a platform dedicated to helping Pilates teachers build confidence through evidence-based education, mentorship, and community.

With over 16 years of experience, her training spans Contemporary, Classical, and Clinical Pilates, including studying with Lolita San Miguel, a first-generation teacher trained directly by Joseph Pilates.

Over the years, Amy noticed a gap between what Pilates teachers learn during certification and the challenges they face in real-world teaching.

Questions about pain, injuries, special populations, and evidence-based practice often go unanswered.

Pilates Extended was created to help bridge that gap.

Today, Amy helps Pilates teachers combine the best of Pilates tradition with modern evidence-based practice through mentorship, education, and a supportive community of instructors committed to lifelong learning.
